Edmund Rice Network, Blama - By Joseph Gomeh

Blama2Greetings from the Edmund Rice Network family Blama. The network continues to grow beyond unimaginable doubt. The spirit of Edmund is still hovering around us as we inspire many young people.

E.R.N Blama has been in existence for the past two years in the West Africa district. The brothers in the Edmund Rice community are working extremely hard to see the vision of the congregation fully alive in this part of the world. Our hearts are filled with joy with the kind of enthusiasm and zest that these vibrant young people have to keep the charism of Blessed Edmund alive.

The members have been involved in many activities to keep them together as a group and also as a source of income generation. Activities like farming, gardening, bee keeping and workshops. From time to time we visit the hospitals and prisons to share the word of God and donate items especially to the poor. The exemplary life of the brothers has attracted so many people to share in the same vision of the congregation by committing themselves to be members of Edmund rice network.

Spiritually, the brothers organize recollections for the members of E.R.N every two months. This is to help strengthen them in their spiritual quest for God. The recollections according to some members have helped to transform their lives in so many ways. At the moment our membership is 25 and there is also an E.R.N group in Kenema and Bo.

We all work collaboratively in keeping the vision of Edmund alive.  Recently all the members of Edmund Rice Network gathered in Blama to celebrate our founders feast day. We hope to do more that will keep us in line with the chapter call.
